About USA Dance Los Angeles

OK, here's the whole poop!

USA Dance Los Angeles is a fun and growing group of over 300 LA ballroom dancers. We're a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, and a local chapter of USA Dance -- the national sanctioning body of amateur ballroom dance in the United States!

We organize our own dances and meet at others all over LA. In addition to organizing dances, we give back to the community by sponsoring a program that teaches ballroom dance to kids at LAUSD schools.

Our goal is simply to promote ballroom dance and encourage others to dance with us!

While this Meetup group is new, USA Dance LA has been around for about 3 years. We used to notify our members of our dances via traditional email, but we grew too large for that -- hence we started this Meetup. We are in the process of migrating all of our existing members to this group. At the same time, we are inviting the general public -- YOU!-- to join.

At all of our dances, a FREE dance lesson from a professional instructor is included in your admission fee!

We dance to a wide variety of music -- waltz, fox trot, rumba, cha cha, tango, East and West coast swing, samba, salsa, hustle, night club two step, etc. Typically, we throw in a couple of dance mixers, maybe a game or two, we always provide snacks and drinks. We also provide dance hosts at all of our dances to make sure the ladies are never sitting idle.

We welcome dancers of all levels. If you are new to dance, we can help you find studios where you can take lessons. If you are experienced, you will find new and friendly partners.

You do not have to officially join USA Dance Los Angeles* to attend our dances, but if you do, you will receive a discount on the admission price to our dances and others in Los Angeles.

There are many benefits to ballroom dancing - physical, emotional, social. So please come join us on the dance floor and see what we are all about!

*Please note that joining this Meetup does not automatically make you a member of USA Dance LA -- there is a separate application process for that. But being a member of USA Dance LA costs ONLY $25 for social dancers, and gets you much more than a discount to dances.
